This is a very busy time of year and a lot has been happening here
at Manasseh Lodge. First, I would like to wish everyone a happy
holiday season and best wishes for the new year. In December at
our stated communication we held the yearly election of officers
on Friday the 6th. The very next day on Saturday, December the
7th, 2002 the new officers of Manasseh Lodge #182 were installed
at 2pm. It was an open installation and was attended by nearly
100 bretheren, family and friends. There was a nice snowfall on
the previous Thursday which left our lodge building and property
looking very festive while glistening under several inches of snow.
Hopefully our new masonic year will be bright and shiny as well.
I would like to thank all the members of Manasseh Lodge for electing
me to this esteemed office. It will be my pleasure to serve the lodge
as best I can this year. This task will be made much easier by the
fine slate of officers elected and appointed to serve with me. And I
would like to thank them once again for their commitment and dedication
to the lodge. Please join us on January 3rd at our stated communication
for the official visit of the District Instructor of Work.
Our Daylight Communication on December 11th was subjected to unyielding
ice and rain. With snow still on the ground and temperatures around
freezing it was slippery and dangerous. Despite these conditions, five
brothers were able to venture out and we did manage to open and close
the lodge. Although the weather was unfriendly we had some nice
fellowship and a good warm lunch. Hopefully in January the weather will
be more cooperative and I invite everyone to attend on January the 8th
at 11am.
The lodge Christmas party was held on December 15th and it was a fun and
festive time. We sang songs, read stories and even had some cookies and
candy. Best of all, Santa dropped by with a bag overflowing with toys.
All the children got a chance to sit with Santa and tell him how good
they have been and what they would like for Christmas. His bag was empty
when he left, so I must assume that everyone has been pretty good this
past year.
